Blitz-recap Game 7

Jammers Int. Weekend League, SE12
Game 7, 20.02.16
UWC Dover Campus

ENTOURAGE BBALL INC vs. Team SOLDIERS: 53 – 50

Confident after a 2-game win streak, the players of Entourage Bball Inc. geared up to face another previously unknown opponent in the Soldiers last Saturday. Upon entering the gym, the boys in black & green were greeted by the sight of two of the best players in the country warming up, forward Jemell and point guard Jamond, both from the SBL-ProAm favourites; Singapore Supras.

Sadly, the anticipated high-level showdown was not to be as they were chaperoning an Under-15 team which, oddly enough, had been allowed to register for season 12 of the Jammers Weekend League.

Playing with diminished focus, Entourage led all game long but their well coached and plucky young opponents never gave up, staying within arms reach. The game was marred by blatantly one-sided refereeing, injuries on both teams and badly missed shots by the black & green.

Entourage vs Soldiers: result
Victory….by the skin of their teeth

Soldiers team lost the game but showed lots of talent and heart, laying a full-court press on their older counterparts throughout the 4th quarter to cut a 12-point lead to single digits by the end of the game.

There was not much basketball wisdom to be gained in the win, Entourage face MDIS in a rematch this Saturday, hoping to put together a much more convincing performance.

Necessary but disappointing win against a group of feisty junior players. Frankly, the team couldn’t go all-out due to physical prowess. Refs allowing the youngsters to manhandle Entourage players and missed ‘gimmes’ stifled the game flow.
